Our exclusive drive of the Caparo T1 in evo 018 was a dizzying experience and we thought things just could not get any more extreme. They can. Caparo has released details of its high-end Race Extreme version.
It’s aimed specifically at full-on (and affluent) trackday enthusiasts and has been built with the company’s usual no-compromise approach to producing ultimate track performance projectiles.
Engine power from the all-aluminium, naturally-aspirated fuel- injected V8 is 620bhp (a 50bhp increase) at 10,500rpm, and, coupled with the car’s flea-sized dry weight of 550kgs, is gutsy enough to propel the Caparo to 160kph in just 5.8seconds! Top speed is listed as 335kph.
The car comes with fully adjustable suspension, aerodynamic package, ceramic brakes, high-spec pads, six-speed sequential gearbox, fully adjustable traction control system and a tuneable ECU for ultimate performance.Caparo has also bowed to customer demand and created a full climate pack, consisting of a plexiglass canopy and air conditioning. Canopy cost is $ 32,000 and an air conditioning unit can be fitted for an extra $ 5,500.
The options can be installed on new orders as well as existing T1 models.
