Emirates Motor Company seemingly oblivious to the the global financial meltdown, have announced plans to open the world’s largest Mercedes-Benz facility in the Mussafah district of Abu Dhabi in the first quarter of 2009.
Spanning a total area of one million square feet, the new EMC headquarters will feature a 4,382 sq metre showroom, 20,873 sq metre service centre with over 250 work-bays, 7,196 sq metres for the spare parts department, a multi-story parking lot and staff accommodation.
“The new facility underscores our continuous efforts in setting industry standards and relentlessly working towards achieving them” His Excellency Saeed Abdul Jalil Al Fahim, Chairman of Al Fahim Group, said. “Establishing the largest mixed-use Mercedes-Benz facility in the world will mark the realisation of one of the company’s key objectives while placing Abu Dhabi on the global map for cutting edge automotive centres”.
