After their most intensive assessment yet HSBC Racing Academy have announced their latest batch of hopefuls that will contest the La Filliere Formula Renault Campus championship. The Dubai Autodrome based initiative’s goals are to develop an Emirati driving talent that will one day compete at the highest level internationally. The most high profile success of the Academy has so far been Sheikh Hasher Al Maktoum who last year performed respectably amongst many big name drivers in the Speed Car series. This years bright young talents are 21 year old Saeed Al Mehairi a product of the local karting scene, 16-year old Mohammad Al Awadi who has shown flashes of potential in this years Gulf Radical cup and the ‘baby’ of the group 15-year old Mohammad Al Mutawaa. The three youngsters were selected from a talent pool of over 600 entries. We will be keeping an eye on their progress as the season unfolds.
