ABU DHABI gets the drift...

IT'S A SHOW AND IT'S CALLED 'TURBO' AND FOR A VERY GOOD REASON TOO

ABU DHABI gets the drift...

ABU DHABI gets the drift...

Finally, after years and years of waiting, we're to get our first tuning and custom show for the region. Organisers CMP have announced that the show will have everything a tuner can dream of, starting with the latest styling products to power chips and even live drifting displays!

The show is to be held in the ADNEC in Abu Dhabi, one of the fastest growing 'bling' markets in the world. Demand for customized products here, as elsewhere in the Middle East, is astounding.

Fueled by the popularity of shows such as MTV's Pimp My Ride and Monster Garage, as well as a few home-grown variants, along with the recent opening of West Coast Custom in Dubai have really put the industry and awareness of these products into overdrive. Although performance and appearance tuning have been popular in the Middle East for a long time, fans of the genre have never really had a proper showcase for the products that they would be interested in using on their cars.

Dan Anslow, former Editor of performance and tuning magazine Max Power will head to the region to launch the show. When asked about why the name 'Turbo' was chosen for the show, his reply was how commonly the word was used here and how turbocharging is by far one of the most popular modifications to cars in the UAE and the Middle East in general.

We've all seen the Hummers with massive chrome rims, tricked out Luminas, and high riding Nissan Patrols with enough horsepower to send a 911 Turbo weeping . What this show will do however is bring together a far wider assortment of products and services from across the world. Even if your'e not looking for a supercharger or 22-inch diamond studded chrome rims, you'll be able to find a whole bunch of other products which can be used on an every day basis including air filter upgrades, car care accessories such as polishes, tools and maintenance kits, lifestyle products and even specialist insurance companies for your tricked out ride.

The show runs from the 9-11 of November and is open to the trade and general public.
