Novitec Rosso supercharges 599 GTB and California

Souped-up Fezzas

Ferrari fettler Novitec Rosso unveiled two new modified cavallino rampantes at the Geneva motor show – a twin-supercharged 599 and a supercharged California, both of which will be available to order from the Dubai-based Prestige Cars showroom.

Putting out an extra 224bhp and 173lb ft thanks to 7psi of boost, the 599-based 848 RACE (no, we’re not fans of the capitals either) develops 837bhp. That results in a 0-100kph time of 3.4sec, 0-200kph in 9.6 and 0-300kph in under 24sec. It maxes out at 345kph. In other words, reassuringly fast.

Brembo provides the stopping power with 16in discs (currently the largest universal items available for road use) clamped by 6-piston callipers. Tyres are 20in front and 21in rear. Exterior modifications include a wind tunnel-tested front lip, larger brake ducts, a larger diffuser and more air friendly side panels. The whole car is finished in matt-white with black and grey highlights.

Similar work is carried out on the California, except underneath it’s boosted by just the one supercharger with a custom intake manifold and larger injectors that hike power up to 598bhp at a heady 7900rpm and 445lb ft in torque. The sprint to the ton is down by only 0.1sec to 3.8, but top speed is now pushed up to 325kph and the California sits a significant 35mm lower. We question what that has done for the ride quality, but on the plus side, there’s a 40mm hydraulic lift at the front.

There are no prices announced for either car, but as the saying goes, if you have to ask…
