Frosted rear lights, a thick mesh grille and slightly updated interior – visually that’s what distinguishes the Supercharged Range Rover from the standard Vogue. It’s not much, but this British brute still has massive presence on the road.
Significantly more important than looks is what lies under the bonnet. The big V8 surges the 2483kg forward with ease and you end up covering vast distances in very short spaces of time while wondering why it doesn’t seem like you’re going that fast.
The biggest indication is the whine of the supercharger, which makes itself known when you use the second half of the rev range. Combined with the big nose lifting easily under acceleration, it feels like a Boeing 747 takeoff.
Handling-wise, the revised suspension doesn’t make the Supercharged feel more car-like; it still moves around quite a bit and you still have to keep in mind the high centre of gravity and sheer bulk, but otherwise it’s always comfortable and flattens any type of road.
It’s one very complete 4x4. Very tempting indeed.
